MEANTIME is a small arts organisation in Cheltenham town
MEANTIME project-space presented a year-round programme of artists' residencies and exhibitions, workshops and discussions, film screenings and live music from 2007 to 2014. Located in central Cheltenham, MEANTIME provided a practical and critical environment for artists and practitioners to realise new work, supporting enquiry and experimentation over market-driven production, and activity and discussion over the routine display and consumption of art. MEANTIME’s founder, Sarah Bowden, is currently the Programme Director of Hardwick Gallery, a new initiative within the refurbished Hardwick campus at the University of Gloucestershire. At Hardwick Gallery, Sarah aims to develop a new model of institutional practice, combining education and research with an outward facing artist-led initiative to create a unique and rigorous experimental context.
