Risking Together: Arts and Education

Friday 22nd February, 1.30-5.30pm at Parabola Arts Centre, £20/£15 including entry to Try Something New.

Educational institutions are changing. The curriculum is changing. Arts funding is changing. How can arts and education professionals continue to support and inspire each other?

Create Gloucestershire is very pleased to be co-hosting another Risking Together event with Parabola Arts Centre, this time focusing on the timely topic of Arts and Education. This event is for artists and venues interested in engaging with education providers, and education providers interested in engaging with artists.

We want to see innovative contemporary performance being created and touring in all regions of the country. In September 2012 we brought together a group of people to discuss the new projects and networks that are enabling regional artists, venues and audiences to take creative risks together. In February 2013 we want to focus on the role the education sector can play in supporting innovative culture in the regions and how artists can work with education providers to enable access to high quality arts in schools and universities.

There will be provocations on current and emerging projects to get us started, followed by an ‘open space’ debate on the question ‘What can schools and universities do for artists / what can artists do for schools and universities?’ Plus lots of opportunities for networking and building up contacts. Come join the debate. #riskingtogether
