STRIKE A LIGHT FESTIVAL IN MARCH - BOOKING NOW!

Booking is open for the second 'Strike a Light' Festival of theatre and performance. From March 20th-23rd it returns to Gloucester, in an ongoing partnership with Create Gloucestershire and internationally-acclaimed theatre producers Battersea Arts Centre.

Now in its second year, the partnership aims to further develop new ways of touring and presenting theatre. Battersea Arts Centre and the six regional partners have this time selected productions supported and produced by organisations across the country, and are continuing their nationwide journey. At each destination these performances will form the core of a festival also featuring a host of homegrown talent, music and food.

This season there's an amazing programme including Victoria Melody's joyous one-woman one-dog show Major Tom; Shame, the hip hop and spoken word show from John Berkavitch and Jo Hellier's live audio and video installation 97 Years, exploring the tenderness and violence of aging. Producer Sarah Blowers has cooked up a stonking local programme too, including multilayered personal narrative The Eye of The Hare from Stand + Stare, a curtain-raiser from Gloucester B-Boys, and a family dog show. Yep, that's an actual dog show.

Come and join us for a weekend of fantastic performance, food and fun across the city.
