3 more new intern and apprenticeship jobs up for grabs in Gloucestershire

Create Gloucestershire is pleased to announce that 3 more new intern and apprenticeship jobs, supported through the Creative Employment Programme (CEP), are now live.  The roles have been made possible by a second successful application to CEP, a £15m Arts Council England fund delivered by Creative and Cultural Skills, through which 23 new employment opportunities have been created and are being rolled out over the next 12 months.

1. Wychwood Art - Creative and Digital Media apprentice (30 hours per week, 12 months)

An exciting opportunity to be involved in a new contemporary art gallery and work alongside the Director to research and source new artists who wish to sell their work, as well as sell art works face to face with clients in the new gallery space.

Wychwood Art is an exciting art gallery based in Stow on the Wold who also enable artists to sell their art directly to buyers when selling online. The artworks are all hand selected by the Director of Wychwood Art. Wychwood Art Gallery represent some of the U.K’s most exceptional contemporary artists and offers a relaxed way for buyers and interior designers to view a wide selection of art.

2. Taurus Crafts – Sales and Marketing intern (30 hours per week, 6 months)

A young person with a passion for arts, crafts and an interest in the creative economy is needed to work as part of a small team at Taurus Crafts.  You will support the development of the CVT Artisans programme to develop products and sales, Can Do Creative and the Paint Your Own workshops.  You will assist the Centre manager and Events and Marketing Co-ordinator to develop the events and creative programme for winter and spring 2015/16

Taurus Crafts is a social enterprise and arts and crafts visitor centre, as well as a base for 16 artisan businesses, gift shop and cafe. We have a programme of art exhibitions, events, markets and holiday activities designed to bring people to the centre and provide a platform for local creative businesses.

3. GDance – Trainee Dance Assistant intern (30 hours per week, 6 months)

GDance require a young person with an interest in dance, who will support courses / workshops, events and productions and in the office: assist in dance/arts sessions, support project and production delivery; and carry out administrative, promotional, basic fundraising, research and evaluation alongside our Programme Co-ordinators.  To start in January 2016.

4. ACP Gallery - Gallery Assistant apprentice (12 months, 30 hours per week)

5. ACP Gallery - Gallery Assistant Intern

The job will be based mainly in the ACP Gallery in Painswick & will involve preparing the Gallery each day, engaging with the public, completing sales, and contributing to the display of art.

6. The Wilson – Collections Intern (6 months, 32 hours per week)

This is a new role that will support the work of the collections team in the art gallery and museum, with extensive spaces dedicated to the storage and display of its collection.

The role will give the post-holder the opportunity to learn about national standards governing the storage, care and display of historic collections. This role will work with curators to update records relating to objects, their significance, condition and storage and support the general administration needed to run the collection team.

Once grown in confidence, the post-holder will respond to public enquiries and interact with the public, leading small groups of visitors around the collections and suggest creative ways that the public can engage with the collection. Through collaboration with the front of house teams and learning teams, they will have the opportunity to come up with ideas to develop public interaction with the collection.

The Wilson, Cheltenham’s newly extended Art Gallery & Museum reopened its doors to the public in October 2013 with a new building housing expansive fine art and touring exhibition galleries for the first time.

7. Cheltenham Town Hall and The Wilson - Sales & Marketing Intern X 3 (6 months, 32 hours per week)

These three new roles will support the work of the information services and sales and marketing departments within the Cheltenham Trust, based at Cheltenham Town Hall.  The roles will give the post-holders the opportunity to be part of the wide and varied sales and marketing activities of two high profile cultural arts venues, working on exhibitions, education and learning activities, events, shows, fundraising, corporate and retail campaigns, whilst supporting general administration.

This person will be responsible for increasing the Hawkwood web presence through digital media, maintaining and updating the website and supporting the Marketing and Publicity assistant in all aspects of marketing.

9. Corinium Museum - Membership intern (30 hours per week, 6 months)

In this role you will need to maintain, develop & engage with membership groups who work with the museum, inc. Corinium Card holders, Season Ticket holders, Corporate Membership and our Friends Group.  You will also be required to help with grant and fundraising and development initiatives.

Corinium is an award winning museum based in Cirencester, home to one of the largest collections of Romano-British antiquities in the country.  Special events, exhibitions and workshops take place through out the year.

This person will support the Principal in all aspects of fundraising. They will be responsible for increasing the contributions of individuals and groups to Hawkwood by building relationships, applying to trusts and foundations and exploring new fundraising opportunities. This will involve nurturing current donors and researching and making contact with potential donors. The role will also encompass covering the front office when necessary.
