Artist Opportunity in Cheltenham with Outside In
Would you like to create an online gallery with Outside In, or know someone who would, but who does not have the skills or facilities to do it themselves?
Artists who fit the Outside In criteria can create an online gallery, showcasing their artwork. At the Surgery Day we can support you to photograph and upload your artwork, help you to write your artist statement, sign you up for your online gallery and submit up to two pieces of your work, via the website, for selection to the ‘Alternative Visions’ exhibition.
Outside In is partnering with Arts & Health South West, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Falmouth Art Gallery, Borough of Poole Museum and Arts Service and The Wilson in Cheltenham to organise 'Alternative Visions: Undiscovered Art in the South West' - a touring exhibition of work by artists in the south west of England who feel excluded from the mainstream art world.
We are asking artists with a page on the Outside In website, who are based in the south west, to submit two pieces of work via the website for selection for this touring exhibition. All mediums of art, including painting, craft, textiles, sculpture, photography are accepted.

What is Outside In:
Outside In provides a platform for artists who see themselves as facing barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation (www.outsidein.org.uk). We are partnering with Arts & Health South West, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Falmouth Art Gallery, Borough of Poole Museum and Arts Service and The Wilson in Cheltenham to produce 'Alternative Visions: Undiscovered Art in the South West'. This touring exhibition will showcase work by artists in the South West of England who feel excluded from the mainstream art world.
Outside In manage an online gallery of more than 2300 participating artists. We will be selecting work for the ‘Alternative Visions’ exhibition from those participating artists who are located in the South West and are working with our partner venues in the region to provide opportunities for new artists to register with us online. Our Surgery Days offer artists who fit the Outside In criteria a one-to-one session with a member of the Outside in team. We offer support with registering on the Outside In website, photographing and uploading artwork, writing an artist statement and submitting work, via the website, for exhibition selection.
