Manifesto pledges: 4

Snapshot: It is vital that arts and cultural organisations diversify their income streams to enable them to adapt and survive. Following a successful collective bid to Arts Council England’s Catalyst fund, CG is working with a seven organisations to develop expertise of and models in private giving, and initiatives such as joint friends schemes and ambassadors for the arts.

Priorities: To ensure the resilience of the sector by supporting a consortia of partners to identify new sources of income, and identify individual and joint delivery programmes.

Coming up: Our first Catalyst-funded initiative has now come to a close. Private giving and fundraising more broadly are now more integrated into consortium partners' business plans, and there's been a big boost in confidence around how to communicate the value of their organisations. Learning has been developed and shared through regular peer meetings, as well as workshops with our wider membership. Our news page features blogs from Fundraising Consultant Hollie Smith-Charles sharing the learning from the project - her final one is due soon. We are also one of 15 UK organisations to host a Fundraising Fellow as part of the Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy Programme – see herefor more information. We are currently scoping a bid for ACE's next Catalyst round in autumn 2015.

Key People: Air in G, NBA, SVA, Prema, Gdance, Artshape, Artspace Cinderford
