Strike A Light Festival
Strike A Light Festival is a biannual festival for Gloucester and the people of Gloucester. We programme professional dance and theatre, always including work with black and diverse artists and ensure that all of our work is accessible and affordable for the communities of Gloucester.
We deliver participation residencies to support the programme, creating opportunities for young people and artists to develop their practice. The festival is a chance for local people to come together; to share food, conversation and be inspired.
We want Strike A Light to spark new work, ideas and creativity. We offer artist support to Gloucester-based artists. We want to encourage artists to live and make work in Gloucester and give them a national platform from which to show their work. Our aim is to grow and develop more venues across the city that will host and support contemporary work. Gloucester is a fantastic city with a rich heritage and this festival will give it something else to shout about.
Strike A Light is an accessible festival so all of our tickets are heavily subsidised. We work in Partnership with Battersea Arts Centre and our festival is part of the Collaborative Touring Network.
