Create Gloucestershire was fortunate to be involved in an life changing initiative, the Creative Employment Programme which supported 40 young people as paid interns and apprentices in 20 different creative organisations/SME’s in taking their first step into working in the creative sector. Of those 40 young people, over half of them were kept on by their employer or moved on to further study.

Victoria was the Marketing, Publicity and Social Media intern at Hawkwood College and was responsible for increasing Hawkwood’s web presence including social media alongside assisting with general marketing duties. After completing a Masters degree in London, she was looking for an opportunity to gain work experience in the South West. Since finishing her internship, she has spent 6 months as a Collections Assistant at The Devil’s Porridge Museum near Dumfries, and a year as an Assistant Registrar with the National Railway Museum. She is currently on a years’ contract work with the National Museum Scotland in Edinburgh as an Assistant Registrar.
