Originally from Dursley, I now live in Bristol and provide freelance research, editorial and policy support for universities, cultural and creative organisations. Some of my recent work includes carrying out qualitative interviews for ‘Beyond the Multiplex’, a three-year research project into film culture; stakeholder mapping for Nesta; editorial work on publications and exhibition texts for the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich; and focus group transcriptions for the University of the West of England.
I gained my first degree in ‘Media and Communication Studies’ from Bournemouth University many years ago and, since then, have enjoyed a varied career at organisations including the educational technology charity Jisc, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of Finland, and a women’s research and development NGO in Zambia. I am passionate about lifelong learning and have three Masters degrees, most recently an MSc in ‘Strategy, Change and Leadership’ from the University of Bristol.
I am eager to put this experience to good use and enjoy contributing to the local creative and cultural economy. I am a Mentor for the Small Charities Coalition and act as Media and Development Adviser for Bristol Rock Centre (an independent music school). I served on the West of England Design Forum Board for six years.
I am keen to make new connections and opportunities through Create Gloucestershire, sharing and exchanging expertise and collaborating with others in the network.
