Look Again unites photography, mindfulness and nature to help people slow down, take notice, expand their vision and see their life, work and world with fresh eyes. To take notice is one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, developed by the New Economics Foundation and used by the NHS.
Look Again runs mindful photography workshops and courses for organisations, businesses, charities, social enterprises, schools, and individuals. We also help people clarify their vision of who they are and what they do, and tell their story by taking their own photos more effectively.
Our workshops and courses are a creative and fun way to use photography to help improve:
mental health and wellbeing
confidence and self-esteem
focus, clarity and vision
motivation, communication and productivity
We also offer interactive talks at away days and conferences, as well as photography commissions for events and projects.
Look Again brings together Ruth Davey’s love of photography with 25 years’ experience of project management and facilitation, working with NGOs, international students, artists, inner city businesses, and regeneration organisations in London, West Africa and Bristol. She founded and ran artXchange in The Gambia and was a creative industry mentor for the Arts Council. Ruth has 10 years experience in running photography workshops, as well as being a professional, published and commissioned photographer in her own right.
Ruth developed her mindful approach to photography when she experienced health challenges: “I have lived experience of how using photography, mindfulness and being in nature can help to improve my own health and wellbeing and now want to share the benefits of this approach with others. My work as a photographer brings together my love of people and planet. My vision is to inspire others to use photography as a tool to make a positive difference in the world”.
