Hosted by Activate Performing Arts, a partner in South Dorset Ridgeway AONB Landscape Partnership Programme, this exploration seeks to improve understanding of the role of Outdoor Arts within our natural, built and social heritage.  We will consider:

  • How we can improve understanding and conservation of our heritage through Outdoor Arts.
  • How we can bring heritage organisations together with artists and producers to commission Outdoor Arts.
  • The priorities for heritage organisations, and how these align with artistic practice.

During the day we will explore ‘Ridgeway Responses’: the interactive performance and installation trail animating the beautiful South Dorset Ridgeway.  The nine new commissions unlock the rich local heritage of the ceremonial landscape.

Participants are invited to Periplum’s performance of The Bell on the evening of the 18th September.  The Bell is an explosive outdoor theatre show that fills Blandford Town Square with passion, fire and soaring music: a tale of conflict, war, hope and redemption.

Attendance for the performances, installation trail and Creative Exploration Event are free.  Spaces for the Creative Exploration are limited so booking is essential.
