Gloucester: Culture Matters? Creative Gathering - book now!

Are you passionate about Gloucester City?  Do you think art and culture can make a place unique and help to build strong communities and meaningful lives?

If so please join us at this special Strike a Light 'Open Space' creative gathering.

You don't need to work in the arts or cultural sector to come along - the only thing that matters is that you care about Gloucester and think that arts and culture have a key part to play in the life of the city.

Create Gloucestershire, Gloucester City Council and Marketing Gloucester warmly invite you to gather and share your thoughts and different perspectives on the future of culture in Gloucester.  The city has low cultural engagement and no Arts Council funded venue, but equally it is also home to a rich pool of creative talent, diverse communies, venues, cultural organisations and fascinating history.

What do you think the future looks like?  Do we need to secure new audiences?  How do we encourage young people to get involved?  What about diversity?  What about cultural tourism?

These are some of our thoughts, we invite you to bring some more - ones that are important to you.

An 'Open Space' invitation is framed around a series of questions that give all participants the chance to propose a starting point for discussion, take part in any of the conversations or flit between them all.  This format is an interactive and inclusive way of structuring a meeting that allows you to set the agenda.

The afternoon will conclude with a delicious Mezze style buffet at The Olympus Theatre, Barton Street, Gloucester - included in your ticket price - and an opportunity for more conversation from 6pm onwards.

Stay on at The Olympus until 7.30pm and take advantage of a special CULTURE MATTERS? ticket rate of £5.00 to watch 'theatrical hand grenade' Ballad of the Burning Star by Theatre Infinitum, as part of Strike a Light festival.

Please note, your theatre ticket needs to be booked separately in addition to your CULTURE MATTERS? ticket. To take advantage of your special ticket offer, and for more information about the show, visit the show webpage, or contact the Guildhall on 01452 503050 and quote: CULTURE MATTERS.

We hope to see you there!
