Job: Freelance Audio Visual Artist at The Wilson Gallery

The Wilson is Cheltenham’s newly reopened museum and art gallery. From October 2015, The Wilson is hosting an exhibition of three works by video artist Bill Viola, loaned from Tate.

With funding from Artist Rooms, The Wilson is looking for a freelance audio-visual artist to work with a group of young people to create an artistic response to the Bill Viola exhibition. This response will be displayed in a public space adjacent to the exhibition.

This is a creative opportunity for a freelance Audio Visual Artist to:

  •  facilitate a group of young people to share ideas and create, edit and curate their final piece. This will be achieved over a series of 4 workshops.
  • assist in installing the created piece and attend an event to celebrate the young people’s work.
  • produce their own response to the exhibition which will be displayed alongside the work created by the young people.
  •  work with the Audience Development Officer at The Wilson to run a public drop-in event to explore the themes represented in the Bill Viola exhibition.

Fee: £1800 (to facilitate 4 workshops and participant resources, produce own work, and deliver 1 public drop-in event)

October 2015 – January 2016
