Forest of Dean’ Know Your Patch’ Workshop – Growing Thriving Communities

Networking and information session to discuss and come up with some practical actions to support communities in the Forest of Dean. See below for details:

Date: Thursday 18th January 2018
Time:  9.30 – 12.30
Venue:  The Main Place, Coleford, Station Way, GL16 8RH ,

We know that a lot of fantastic work is happening across the Forest of Dean being led by voluntary and community organisations as well as individuals, faith groups and others keen to make a difference.

The purpose of the session is to improve the county council , district council and health service's awareness and understanding of your work and to connect you with other individuals and organisations who may have similar aims or experience.  We will also be sharing the findings from the Community Wellbeing Survey carried out by the County Council in July 2017 which 700 people completed.  It presents a strong picture of the work which goes on in communities but also highlights some key gaps around transport, social isolation, mental health and services to support people with the early stages of dementia.

We are keen to understand if these findings resonate with you and to get your thoughts on how we might contribute to addressing them.  There is a small pot of funding available to seed fund, activities that address the gaps you identify in the Forest and we are keen to get going on starting new projects or augmenting existing ones to increase capacity before the end of the financial year.
