Last Thursday: Chris Wood NOT JUST A LIST OF AWARDS

When you read through Chris Wood's achievements and directions in music it is a mighty list.
In the Forest he will be remembered as part of the duo with accordianist Andy Cutting who performed a number of times in the days ofDean Arts.

Since then as a solo artist he has won many many awards as best folk singer best album, best songwriter and been part of the Imagined Village folk super group project along with Martin Carthy- who played at the Evergreen two years ago-, Billy Bragg, Eliza Carthy, Simon Emmerson, Dhol Foundation and dub poet Benjamin Zephaniah.

For a number of years he has performed a stunning show with story teller Hugh Lupton about the life of the 'peoples poet' JohnClare which blended spoken word and songs in its telling.

So when you have that range of material to draw upon it is always going to be a special evening. Chris will be playing accoustic in the intimate space of our own local Broadwellvillage hall

Tickets are available in advance from Coleford Library and Coleford Tourist Office or on the door. Everyone is welcome and next month we host the secret accordianist Paul Hutchinson who performs with saxophonist Karen Wimhurstas Pagoda that is on thurs 29th June.
