New programme of family activities at Coleford Library as part of Coleford Festival of Words

Coleford Library is working with this year's Coleford Festival of Words to host a series of exciting creative events especially for children and young people in the festival programme.  

The festival runs from Monday 3rd - Sunday 8th July 2017

Highlight include: 

Monday 3rd July 10.30am and 11.30am– Christopher’s Caterpillars - Story and collage workshop for young children with author and illustrator, Charlotte Middleton

Tuesday 4th July 4pm  – Join Robin, one half of the storytelling duo The Etherington Brothers, as he shares his secrets for making truly awesome comics.



Weds 5th July 5pm  – Lydbrook Youth theatre perform “ Forest tales” Inspired by shared memories from older residents of the Forest of Dean.

Friday 7th July 6pm – Bed time Stories – snuggle down with a hot chocolate for a bedtime story

Saturday 8th July 10.30am - Story Adventure – head off on a guided walk around Coleford with storyteller and performer Adam Blake and collect the clues then head back to the Library to put together your own story.

Saturday 8th July 5pm – Coleford library and Lakers school host a celebration event for young readers and poets, as part of the Shadowing project.

The childrens programme at Coleford Library is part of Art of Libraries - an exciting three year test programme in 6 “early adopter” libraries led by Create Gloucestershire in partnership with Gloucestershire Libraries and Information, the Barnwood Trust and Real Ideas Organisation. We are wanting to test out if libraries in Gloucestershire can be new places of“arts every day for children and young people especially those who do not actively engage with the sector”?
