Passing the Baton

“There’s music in the water here. It’s in the trees and in the coal seams. It runs right through the core of the people.” Introducing our brand-new theatrical + musical extravaganza! Passing the Baton has been commissioned as part of our Forest Tales project and will be touring around the Forest of Dean throughout August and September 2017.

Funded by Arts Council, Forest Tales is an intergenerational project focusing on stories and memories from the local area. Over the past few months we have been working with playwright Mike Akers to develop a new script which has been taken from discussions and memories uncovered in the intergenerational sessions we have been running with the local community.

Much of the inspiration and focus of the story has come from the Lydbrook Brass Band and we are delighted that the Lydbrook Training Band will be joining us for a very special intergenerational performance. Our set has been created through community workshops delivered by Artspace Cinderford, using screen prints inspired by the stories.

We are very excited to announce that our performers are Chez Dunfois (EveryBODY Dance, Pif-Paf Theatre, Perfomers Without Borders), Katie Storer (Mufti Games, The Desperate Men, Ramshaklicious, Beyond the Ridiculous) and Pat Moran (Kneehigh, The Globe, Bristol Old Vic).

Tickets for all shows will be available on the door before each performance and will be suggested donations only. We are donating proceeds from each performance to the following charities across the Forest of Dean: The Orchard Trust Age Concern, Forest of Dean Scarr Bandstand renovation project

Performances are open to all ages. For more information email
