Preparation for Academic Writing
Whatever your creative work, if you are thinking about doing some higher-level study in the coming year, writing academic assignments may be new to you. You can get extra support with this once you’ve started, but a short course now could be a wise investment.
The course includes direct teaching and workshop time to put the skills into practice and get individual feedback. £45 per session or £120 for the full course.
Session 1: What is academic writing? Expectations, tone and style | Getting the basics right. Session 2: Understanding and planning your assignments | The writing process | Coherence and cohesion. Session 3: Reading for study | Referencing, quoting and paraphrasing.
It’s offered at three different times to fit in with other commitments. Wednesday evenings 6.30 – 9.30 Starts 16th August for 4 weeks. Tuesdays 10 – 3 Starts 15th August for 3 weeks. Saturdays 19th August and 2nd September 9.30 – 4.
