Select Trail 2018

Select Trail is an exciting trail of over 90 with Artists’ Open Studios and exhibitions set in the historic town of Stroud and the Stroud Valleys, Gloucestershire, located in the Cotswolds.

The region is home to hundreds of artists and craftspeople attracted to the area for its outstanding natural beauty and rich history of industrious and creative enterprise.

This year, the Select Trail has an exciting new curator, Emma Neuberg, overseeing the trail and introducing a special Guest Artists’ Weekend at Gallery 2 in the iconic Museum in the Park, Stroud the weekend of May 5th – 6th: ‘Curator Emma Neuberg specializes in cross-cultural art and design and brings together an international group to stimulate new conversations across the trail, the festival and its communities.

For two weekends in May 2018, you’re invited to discover over one hundred trail artists in all, their studios, tools, techniques and latest collections in the privacy of their working environments and making places.

After all, it’s the artist’s relationship with his or her surroundings that inspires and informs their best work. The Trail artists are established in their field and the quality of their work is steeped in experience, skill, pioneering processes and artistic vision. This maturation means the work on show is exemplative of art and craft in Britain today. It also points to the joy of the region, its creative workforce and cultural capital.

To accompany the Trail there is a free collectible brochure with high quality images and details plus the main Select Festival Brochure. For a free copy contact the Festival office.
