RISE Youth Dance Training Scheme
The programme was designed to offer young dancers a higher level of dance training, a chance to develop their teaching skills through their relationship with RISE Youth Dance, as well as real experience of what it’s like to be a dance artist in the industry today.
There are three terms of £350, where students benefit from a full day a week of training delivered by professional dance artists, participation in all RISE Youth Dance classes and weekly individual mentor sessions with Helen Wilson, among so much more. Students take an active role in discussing and developing future projects and are supported in expanding their skills beyond dance and into the realm of arts administration, fundraising and more.
The programme is in its third year and has so far been a huge success. Graduates of the course have successfully auditioned to professional training schools like Laban, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, The Place and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts as well as gained professional employment in teaching, arts administration and marketing roles.
