The Cotswolds AONB Hare Trail is back - hop to it

In its fifth year the Cotswold Hare Trail has partnered with the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and includes 130 hare sculptures (including a series of leverets and springer hares) waiting to be discovered all over the Cotswolds.

The hare’s locations and designs explore the theme of ‘living landscapes’ as part of the art trail’s effort to promote sustainable tourism and environmental conservation throughout the area. As well as embarking on the trail as part of the Hare Spotting competition to win a bronze 18-inch leveret, participants are encouraged to share their discoveries along the way on social media.

You can pick up a Cotswolds AONB Hare Passport Guide at WWT Slimbridge or download a map online. The lucky person who manages to tick off all 130 sculptures wins a 5 foot hare to decorate themselves! All entries must be completed by September 10th and the prize draw will take place at the Farewell Hares end of trail event on the 18th September.

The Trail will culminate on September 21st when the hares will go to auction to raise funds for two special local AONB projects run by the Cotswolds Conservation Board Caring for the Cotswolds and Glorious Cotswold Grasslands.
