FREE Inclusion training in Gloucestershire this autumn

Active Impact provides FREE Inclusion training for individuals and organisations in Gloucestershire who work with children and young people.

We've supported everyone from artists to sailing clubs, magicians to Early Years settings to gain confidence in welcoming disabled children and young people.

Our popular Inclusion Needs You programme is running again this autumn. We have spaces available on both our week day and weekend sessions. We know that volunteers may often work during the week so once a year we run a full Saturday programme to enable them to participate in this valuable training. However, you can book a mix of weekday and weekend sessions if this suits you better.

Any organisation in Gloucestershire which works with children and young people up to 25 yrs old can send up to three staff or volunteers on the training for freeas it is funded by Gloucestershire County Council to help increase inclusive provision in the county. Please do share this with others if you think they would be interested.

Programme Dates:

(core) Introduction to Inclusion - Sat 28th Sept or Tues 15th Oct (all day sessions)

(core) Practical Inclusion - Sat 19th Oct or Tues 5th Nov (all day sessions)

Positive Behaviour Support - Sat 9th Nov or Thurs 28th Nov (am session)

Communication - Sat 9th Nov or Thurs 28th Nov (pm session)

Autism Awareness - Thurs 14th Nov or Sat 23rd Nov (am session)

Full programme including details about each session and booking form attached. Spaces are filling up already so we recommend booking as soon as you can, our next programme will not run until May 2020. We encourage everyone to do our two core sessions and then as many of the follow up topics as possible but it us up to you which you book for.

These sessions are best described as 'serious fun'. We aim to help anyone to increase their confidence around included disabled children in what they do. Many sessions are co-presented by disabled and non-disabled people and all our trainers are highly skilled and experienced.

Here are some quotes from recent attendees:

'I really enjoyed the day and wish all courses were so "inclusive"!'

'I have a better understanding of approaches to inclusion, and feel more confident in using my skills.'

'Absolutely brilliant course. I have learnt at lot!'

'Just the right level of humour and seriousness. Made it a fun and comfortable environment, very engaging.'
