Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Each workshop is tailored to the group taking part: responding to the particular themes that you want to explore. Select from a menu of different perspectives on AI, and explore each one through expert inputs, hands-on activities and group discussion.
The day starts with historical and practical perspectives, providing a supported opportunity to try out different AI applications: from generating text, images and video with AI, to exploring automatic summarisation, podcast creation, image recognition and automated decision making.
We’ll set AI in its historical context, and look at the basics of how different kinds of AI systems work, unpacking key terms like ‘Large Language Model’, ‘Generative AI’ and ‘Predictive Analytics’.
Then we look at social and environmental perspectives exploring where AI can help, or harm, efforts to create a more just, inclusive and sustainable world. Drawing on artists' responses to AI to feed our discussions, we’ll debate the factors we might each choose to weigh up when deciding to introduce AI tools in our workplace or communities.
After lunch we explore opportunities and challenges: thinking about the potential and limitations of AI. We’ll have time to explore issues such as AI bias, hallucinations, and prompt-injection risks, and to think about light-touch experimental approaches to finding the right fit for AI in different settings.
Lastly, we’ll focus on our personal perspectives, drafting individual or organizational action plans for the perspectives we each want to explore more.
This workshop is designed specifically for leaders and practitioners in the public sector, voluntary sector or social enterprise, though it will also be accessible to people thinking about AI in their own daily lives. The facilitated learning approach will allow participants to explore different themes individually or in small groups.
