Jennifer Taylor

Jennifer Taylor is a Lead Commissioner in Public Health at Gloucestershire County Council, currently leading the council’s work on substance misuse, public mental health and suicide prevention and with the armed forces community. She has 14 years experience in local government in a broad range of roles – across economic regeneration, policy and performance management, community engagement and the delivery of community services – but began her career in a small arts charity, commissioning public artworks and working with communities to explore creative responses to local regeneration.

Jennifer has an MA in Town & Country Planning and is interested in the impact of place on our health and particularly our mental health and wellbeing. She lives in Gloucester City and enjoys creative writing, including writing and performing poetry, and developing her skills as a novice bookbinder but is happiest when tending to her small urban garden.
