Cultural Commissioning
Manifesto pledges: 8
Snapshot: CG, NHS Gloucestershire and 3 district councils have been selected by the Cultural Commissioning Programme to develop a new bespoke framework for arts and cultural commissioning - incorporating arts and culture into health and wellbeing services across the county. This recognises Gloucestershire as a national leader in the area of arts and health work, including art on prescription programme Artlift. You can read CG's audit of arts and health activity in the region here.
Priorities: To move from one-off arts and health projects to a consistent, joined-up approach to preventative work across the county, placing culture on a similar footing to other services that impact on health and wellbeing of Gloucestershire residents.
Coming up: Jules Ford, Cultural Commissioning Project Manager, has just led a survey of current provision, and is about to launch a Grant Application Programme to pilot projects in a range of areas across the NHS - info on how to apply here soon. You can read Director Pippa Jones's first blog about the project here.
