Bream Dream

Bream Dream is a network for people in the Forest of Dean who want to make the area a more creative place to live, work and play.

Bream Dream brings together residents, artists and community organisations who want to grow creative life where they live. It is one of our newer Neighbourhood Creative Alliances, finding its own way with learning from places like Culture Matson, and it is open to anyone who is part of the community.

It is part of our Create Local programme, alongside other neighbourhoods growing creative power from the grassroots up. Find out more about Create Local

Join the group

If you'd like to get involved then please come along to a meeting - you'll be made very welcome. The group meets at an ‘open table’ gathering about every six weeks. These meetings are open to everyone - you do not need to be an artist or work in the creative sector. Come along to share ideas, hear what others are working on, and help shape what happens next.

Meet the team

From left to right: Tracey, Debbie and Sophia.

Sophia is the Creative Catalyst for the Forest of Dean. She holds the regular ‘open table’ meetings of Bream Dream, catalysing community ideas through conversation. Sophia is always actively listening, asking “who isn't here?” and seeking to include them.

Debbie is the Creative Catalyst for Culture Matson and Cam & Dursley Creatives. There has been rich learning from Culture Matson since it started in 2017, including a community-owned fund, their Sheepy Bank. Debbie shares that learning to help Bream Dream grow its own version.

Tracey is a co-lead of Create Gloucestershire and a Convenor for all the Neighbourhood Creative Alliances. She brings in all the voices, in the room and not yet in it, keeping transparency and equity at the heart of every meeting.

As an artist/collaborator I joined the Dream Switch in April, with my “CG brain” only slightly engaged, ready to embrace the experiment that we had created. I work with CG on creative communication and the network, so this event was a timely breathing space for me, and for the others.
