Create Leaders is our home for growing leadership across the county. We want the people who lead here to reflect the communities they serve, and we help them build the tools, relationships and confidence to collaborate across sectors for the future. If you’re already bringing people together in your community, are just stepping into leadership or want to develop your collaborative leadership practice further, there is a place for you here.
Start here: Catalyst Foundation
Our Catalyst Foundation is a free creative leadership course for people who are already making a difference where they live and work, who are stepping into leadership development for the first time, or want time out to refresh their collaborative leadership practice.
Everyone takes part as a peer in a small, supported group, and creativity is built into how we work together. The next course runs over five sessions from November 2026 to March 2027, mixing in-person and online.
The next course
An alumni community
More than 70 people have now been through our leadership programmes. Our alumni community keeps them connected: a place to celebrate the subtle skills they have grown, coach one another, keep learning together and leaning into the challenges and emerging work in the county long after a course ends. Everyone who takes part in a programme is welcome, and we gather through the year to reconnect and share where our journeys are taking us.

Create Leaders joins these parts into one pathway.
Programmes like Catalyst Foundation provide a first stepping stone. The alumni community is where people stay connected and keep growing, and deeper collaborative work, like our Co-Lab brings people together across sectors, builds on those foundations, with more planned as the ecosystem grows.
Running through all of it is a commitment to demystifying leadership, so it feels open to people who assume it is not for them.

Some are stepping into leadership for the first time, often people who are less likely to be offered development or a seat at the table. Others are established leaders looking to work better across sectors.
