We held a Pop Up meeting exploring the Opportunities & Challenges of Digital Technology, 11th September, 10am - 12pm, Moreton in the Marsh.

This session will explore how digital technology is changing practice in the arts and cultural sector, and how we might use it positively.”

We met at Moreton in the Marsh Library (with a live stream on Facebook) for an exploration of digital technology in the context of arts and culture, led by the inspirational Dan Sutch, as well as a chance to meet and connect with other creative people and organisations working in the Cotswolds and across Gloucestershire.
One way that digital technology is transforming creative practice is via new making equipment that is now widely available. Gloucestershire Libraries are piloting the ‘loan’ of equipment such as 3D printers, digital sewing machines, robots, VR goggles and a variety of coding equipment, all of which could be tried out on the day.
Tea and coffee were available from 9.30 and there was plenty of time for meeting and sharing with other people at the event. There was also a Q&A with Dan and a chance to reflect on how digital impacts on your own practice or organisation.
