Nicole Andan

Nicole Andan
Nicole Andan of Nicole Barbara Arts in an International Artist, based in Gloucester, her creations are currently sitting in homes and businesses in the UK, Europe, Singapore, USA, The UAE and Ghana.
As a child of military parents, she has lived in countries across Europe; and after a stint in London during her twenties, where she met her husband Dominic, she has been settled in the South West of England, UK for the last 10 years.
In 2015 following the birth of her precious daughter, Lilly-Anne, Nicole was diagnosed with a lifelong disability called Rheumatoid Arthritis; an autoimmune disease that damages her joints causing pain and deformity.
As a new Mum and newly disabled Nicole struggled to find some balance; then after a move to Gloucester she met another Mum and Artist who encouraged her to pick up a paintbrush.
Nicole soon discovered holding paintbrushes caused significant pain in her hands, having found her passion for art Nicole would not be discouraged, she tried alternative methods and found a preference for pallet knives and sponges; she also discovered a passion for contemporary, textured or "mixed media" art and has incorporated her love of jewels and precious metal into her art using metal leaf.
Nicole has a passion for history, both classical and mediaeval and as such many of her pieces of art to be named after classical gods or characters from mediaeval literature and explore the juxtaposition between light and shade and the interplay between the two; each piece of art unique and will never be duplicated.
Nicole continues to build on the reputation she has gained for creating exclusive, bold and impactful art; and hopes to utilise here extensive experience in delivering training and mentoring within her business, offering both 1:1 and group training, particularly focussing on building texture in abstract art.
Nicole hopes to make her family proud and exceed the expectations of her clients as she continues on her journey to develop her skills and establish herself as a unique and interesting Contemporary Artist.

I support artists and organisations to make amazing things happen – by doing the ‘boring stuff’ that underpins their work: business and funding planning, company/charity incorporation, policies and finance…
For organisations I provide training, consultancy and development capacity that will make your setup as brilliant as your creative output.
For artists and creative freelancers I provide support to get stuff done: affordable online training and free resources: www.christinapoultoncreative.co.uk/resources

Jenny Wren Productions is a Cheltenham-based theatre company, established in 2004, specialising in small-scale and rural touring. We produce an open-air show every summer that we tour to a variety of venues, as well as a second tour, usually in the winter months. Our shows are often adaptations of classic novels or have a historical basis, a little bit quirky, and many are accompanied by educational workshops.
We have close links with the Everyman Theatre and feel very lucky that we get to perform there and in so many other beautiful venues around the county, such as Berkeley Castle, Highnam Court and Gloucester Cathedral, as well as more rural locations in the Forest of Dean and the Stroud Valleys.
We love how hard people in all our venues work to welcome and support touring companies such as ours, so we can continue to share our work with people all around the county.

Junction 12 Art Group is a small and exciting collective of professional Gloucestershire artists united by our passion to create and share our work.
We initially got together in 2018 at Jackson's Art Supplies in Quedgeley. Since then, we regularly meet near Junction 12 on the M5 to talk about all things art, events, exhibitions and collaborations.
We are all very different! As well as offering a diverse range of talent, we are an approachable bunch with a desire to make our art as accessible as possible.

I am a professional sculptor with over 25 years experience of exhibiting, commissioned art, community based public art, residencies in schools and colleges here and abroad.
I am a direct carver of green wood, and aim to use locally sourced fallen timber for all my projects. When teaching woodcarving in the health sector it has proved to be hugely beneficial to the clients, who have found carving to be a very therapeutic process.
During a sculpture residency there is a magical collaboration between the environment, material, artist and students, culminating in a unique sculpture.
Art is where I take refuge from the storms of life. It provides stillness and peace, and reinvigorates me. It has been a life raft during times of mental ill health. The colours, shapes, textures and patterns of the natural world can calm or enliven us, and I draw inspiration from them when creating my mixed-media abstract artworks.
We all see the world around us differently and our experiences impact on how we perceive our surroundings. Being sight-impaired, I bring different perceptions and representations of the world to my art. I aim to embody the emotional experiences prompted by nature, and snapshots of the way I see the world.
Creating art is an essentially human way of communicating emotions, and I am driven to creativity to express myself. Many people face barriers to participating in creative activities, and I am passionate about encouraging and enabling people to access art and creative activities.

At Betsy Benn we make art based personalised gifts, Christmas decorations, and homewares that we sell online.
With two large laser engravers and a large UV flat bed printer, I'm keen to explore options to help other artists turn their designs into products for sale.
We have a small workshop space that can take up to 16 participants for creative workshops. Previous use of the space has included workshops in paper cutting, felting, caligraphy, marbling, wreath making, and origami.
