Can’t Sit Still is excited to be recruiting 2 new trustees. Could you be one of them?

Our mission is to use creativity and culture to disrupt social inequalities, inspire people, connect communities and spread joy.

We are looking for new trustees to continue building a diverse, creative and communicative board, able to offer positive challenge, advice and expertise as we continue to grow and develop.

We have a strong set of company values, that are the beating heart of the charity:

- We are courageous learners: we won’t always get everything right, and when we don’t we promise to learn and do better

If you share our values but don’t feel confident that you have the skills, experience or knowledge to be a trustee, please read on!

We are looking for people who are passionate about making the arts inclusive and accessible and are willing to share and learn. We are also looking for people who are experienced in one or more of these areas (though this isn't essential):

• Income generation (private, public and/or philanthropic)

• Health and/or Social Care Legal Commercial theatre producing and/or artistic direction

• Finance and accountancy

At Can’t Sit Still, we believe that the richest, most innovative and life changing work is created when we work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, with different cultures, faiths and lived experiences. With this in mind we are very interested in hearing from people from the global majority, people who grew up in non-English countries or cultures, LGBTQIA+ people, those with lived experience of social or physical disabilities and chronic ill health, and people under the age of 30.

We’d love to hear from both aspiring and experienced trustees. If you are new to being a trustee, we will team you up with a buddy board member for the first year who will be able to show you the ropes.

If you apply you will be invited to have a chat with the Artistic Director and the Chair of Trustees and to observe a meeting before you commit.

If you choose to join us we will make sure you have any training and support you need so that you feel part of the team and able to contribute your unique insights for the duration of your term.
