For students and young people thinking about a creative career…come along to chat with these lovely folk:
Ben Patton @portamusuk is an accessories designer and maker who started out creating products for local independent shops before moving to New York to work with an independent brand. Back in the UK, he spent many years designing handbags and accessories for Radley before launching his own consultancy and vintage-inspired accessories brand, Portamus.
Emma Luczyn @emmaluczyn is a lettering artist and designer from Yorkshire, now based in Stroud after a long career in Bristol. After 20 years as a graphic designer, she now creates custom letterforms that bring originality and craft to brand storytelling. Emma also teaches lettering workshops across the UK and recently released a typeface with F37 Foundry.
Dr. Alex Box @thealexbox is a visionary artist and pioneer of Beauty Futurism, exploring the intersection of beauty, identity, art and technology. Former Creative Director of Illamasqua, she has collaborated with brands including Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Google and Epic Games and icons including Lady Gaga. She is now CEO of V-METICS, developing new technologies for digital beauty and virtual cosmetics.
Philip Delamore @philipdelamore is the founder of Digital Fashion and a leading innovator in digital fashion, 3D technology and virtual commerce. He has collaborated with major brands including Louis Vuitton, Microsoft and Epic Games, while also shaping fashion technology education through roles at London College of Fashion and the Royal College of Art. He is currently Co-Founder and COO of V-METICS.
Miles Johnson @milesjohnsondesign has spent more than 20 years developing sustainable and innovative clothing collections, working across mills, manufacturers and global fashion brands. He was formerly Creative Director of Product and Development at Patagonia in California and Creative Director of Levi’s XX at Levi Strauss & Co. in Amsterdam, following a career that spans educational roles, film and television and the denim industry.
