Gothic Zine Making at the Holst Victorian House

Create your own Zine – a self-published mini-magazine – with dark, gothic ingredients inspired by our latest exhibition, Theodor von Holst: From Frankenstein to The Pre-Raphaelites. Held in our atmospheric Victorian Kitchen, complete with a roaring fire, it is the perfect activity for an autumn evening.

Discover where your imagination can take you with just one sheet of A3 paper and a host of materials and artistic techniques. We will be providing collage materials, including Victorian ephemera and Theodor von Holst illustrations, as well as access to an Instax camera and a photocopier. There will also be opportunities to make rubbings and stamps and to incorporate printmaking, such as mono-printing and cyanotype.

Includes refreshments (non-alcoholic punch) and time to visit the museum and exhibition. This event is part of our Gothic Nights programme, suitable for age 14 plus. Led by Martha Kelsey, Holst Victorian House Operations Manager and artist, and Laura Kinnear, Holst Victorian House Curator and writer.

We are very sorry, but because of the historic nature of the house, the museum is not wheelchair accessible.
