There’s nothing nicer than getting out and about and looking, really looking at your surroundings. For today’s session, join artist Hannah Dyson as we take a gentle, leisurely stroll around the town of Dursley. We’ll be looking at the many glorious buildings and stunning examples of architecture within just a small network of streets.
Using a range of drawing materials, we’ll be looking to translate what we see onto the page using simple mark-making techniques. The focus here is on quick initial sketches which then, with Hannah’s guidance, will help you to develop your own distinctive style of sketching and drawing.
We aim to be out and about but hope to spend some of the time inside St James the Great - Dursley’s splendid church, dating back to the 13th century, which provides a magnificent subject on which to focus our attention and acquisition of new skills. The sessions with Hannah are suitable for people of all drawing abilities and levels of experience. Our aim is to be open to new approaches to drawing and giving it a go.
