Beginners Drystone walling

  • The Quarry Chapel The Quarry Cam, GL11 6JB (map)

This brilliant two day beginners' course is seeking 8 strong individuals who would like to help The Quarry Chapel to create two exquisite stone benches for their new community garden. Stone expert Harry Greenstreet introduces you to the tools and techniques of this fascinating, traditional craft, helping you to discover all the elements required to create a strong, beautiful wall.

You will be fully supported throughout the two days. Take your time to learn and hone your craft; after all, the traditional techniques have been used for centuries!. Don't forget to wear comfy, warm clothes, sturdy footwear and a robust pair of work gloves! Harry's workshop will be pretty physical; needing you to pick up, move and place heavy cotswold stone so perhaps not one for the faint-hearted. It’s gonna be amazing. Book up now as places limited!
