Totem Pole Carving

  • Wildacres Breadstone GL13 9HF United Kingdom (map)

An outdoor 3 day project ( there will be shelter if needed ) participants will use hand and power tools to carve and decorate a large tree trunk to make a Totem pole featuring simple designs inspired by nature. This course is for adults, you don't need prior woodworking or craft skills - but if you do, great !

3 days over three weeks.

  1. Wednesday 15th March

  2. Wednesday 22nd March

  3. Wednesday 29th March

When we've finished on the last day, the plan is to put the pole up on site as a permanent piece of art for all to admire.

What to expect: Wild Acres is a rural Community project tucked away in the Berkeley Vale surrounded by trees and fields- relaxing but inspiring. This project is going to be fun- we've never built a Totem pole before so it's going to be a learning curve for us all.

Expect to be working as a team but where your individual ideas will be valued and incorporated into the design. You'll also pick up some useful craft skills and eat some really tasty vegetarian food prepared in our outdoor kitchen. And you might get a bit muddy, so dress for the outdoors !. We look forward to meeting you.

Ticket price. £6 to cover all 3 days.
What do I need to bring? You might get a bit muddy, so dress for the outdoors!

Access: Although we have parking and an accessible toilet the area where we will be working and the nature of the work will need participants to be able to stand for periods of time.

Refreshments: Really tasty vegetarian food will be prepared in the outdoor kitchen
