Support Hidden Notes Festival
This year (with the ongoing costs of running the festival) we are looking to invite other supporters to help us continue to be able to put on our ambitious project!
It will return on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2026 in seven venues across the centre of Stroud featuring musicians from across the UK as well as Slovenia, Germany and France.
Critics and attendees have described Hidden Notes as a “top festival for expanding your musical horizons” and praised its imaginative programming and welcoming atmosphere. The festival has been noted for its ability to blend experimental music forms and attract audiences both locally and internationally.
Hidden Notes Festival is an annual arts and music festival held in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Founded in 2019 by the local independent arts magazine Good on Paper, the festival showcases a diverse programme of contemporary classical, folk, electronic and avant-garde music alongside film screenings, book talks, art installations, discussions and late-night DJ sessions. It takes place across multiple intimate venues in the centre of Stroud, including churches, galleries, art centres, and independent record shops.
The inaugural Hidden Notes Festival took place in 2019, establishing the event’s focus on presenting innovative music rarely seen together on the same stage while foregrounding collaborations and immersive experiences. Since then, the festival has grown in scope and reputation, drawing both international performers and audiences to Stroud.
The festival receives no external funding apart from the kind support from local organisations such as Ecotricity, Derbyshire Framers, Laura Kinsella Foundation and d&b audiotechnik.
